Drawings and Paintings
$5 for head-only sketches
$10 for full-body sketches or head-only inked lineart
$20 for full-body inked lineart (cleaner lines than the sketches, easier to adapt to color digitally if you want)
$25-30 for basic colored headshots
$35-40 for small, basic colored image on colored or patterned cardstock, original mailed to you. (note me for available colors/patterns)
$45-50 for portrait-style drawings with full shading (black and white or color)
$35-55 for refs (depending on complexity and whether you want a simple color wash background or no background)
$45-65 for a full picture with background (depending on complexity)
$65+ for acrylic on canvas, again depending on complexity. Does not include cost of shipping for the original to be mailed to you - shipping will be calculated on a case-by-case basis.
It's $5-10 extra per character (depending the complexity of the character/pose you want) to add another character to any image.
Drawings can be done in either colored pencil or watercolor (possibly with some accents in chalk pastel). Or I can decide on a mix of whatever works best. The mixed media pieces usually turn out a bit better. For headshots you may also request digital - I can do digital shading on avatar-type images.
If you wish I WILL show you the initial sketch before I move forward with the rest of the piece, as once I get past the sketch phase it is difficult if not impossible (depending on medium) to alter the image after that point. Let me know before I start working whether you want to see the sketch first, otherwise I'll just keep on going if I'm on a roll.
Please remember when requesting art that you are commissioning me for my own style of artwork. If you want somebody else's style, go pay them. I also do not do "adult" themed artwork at this time. I will draw blood, I am not objected to swearing, but I will NOT draw you porn. For one, I have no way of determining if you're underage. For another, I have no interest in it. I mean, if you can prove to me you're over 18 and want to, say, pay me like $100 or more for it, MAYBE I'll consider it, but only because I could use the money.
Dreamcatchers
$10-25 for the small bracelet-sized (depending on material and whether or not the ring is wrapped)
$25-55 for medium (because the loops range in size and complexity)
$60+ for large or "specialty" (such as the "infinity loops" with multiple weave)
Shipping is not included in this price, and will depend on size. I ship using USPS so it will depend on the actual size dimensions of the piece, and the whim of the post office and their constant changing of shipping rates. I normally do pay the extra for a tracking number, just to be safe, so that will get tacked on. It's usually less than $1 for the tracking.
I am tentatively going to start offering custom dreamcatchers (let me know if you'd like to see what supplies I have on hand), we'll see how that goes, but pre-made ones will always be available as they are completed, and you are welcome to make suggestions. If suggested items do not sell by other means they will be made available on Etsy, so please let me know if you want one put on hold. I will only hold pieces for about two weeks - one week if somebody else is interested and you have given me no indication that payment is imminent.
Floral Wreaths
$30-35 for foam bases - only one size available (approx 13" across when finished, ring they are built from is 10")
$40-45 for straw-weave bases - varying sizes (easiest to find is 10", others are subject to availability in the store)
The straw bases cost more because though they take less material, they take a LOT more time to look nice. Shipping is not included in this price. Wreaths will primarily be available on Etsy but if I know somebody has been waiting to get one, I may offer them outside of the Etsy shop first and then if that person doesn't want it, will put it in the shop.
I do not at this time make fully custom wreaths, however I am open to suggestions on themes and colors. This is only because I never know what is actually going to be available in the store, the supplies are constantly changing.
Other Crafts
Commissions for all other crafts will be priced on a case by case basis. See the "crafts and sculpture" section of my gallery for examples of the kinds of crafts I have done so far, and Etsy for the general price range. If you have something particular in mind, note me and I can let you know if I have the necessary supplies on hand, or can offer alternatives if I don't.
Sculpture
$20-25 small, sculpey or super sculpey
$30+ medium or large (will be sculpey or super sculpey with a wire frame)
Sculptures can be "pre-made" (already baked but not painted) or fully custom, but keep in mind I am still practicing with sculpture and am limited in the poses I can do. If I can't get your piece to stand up on its own in the pose you requested, I won't do it - otherwise they end up laying on their sides in the oven and you get this nasty flat spot. I don't yet know a way around this. For the "premade" pieces, you can request I paint it, or if you prefer you can just order the piece as-is and paint it yourself.
Please note I will pack these as best I can, after that I can't be responsible for whatever abuse the postal service gives it.
Shipping will be calculated once the piece is done on a case by case basis. Like with all my craft pieces, I usually go for the least expensive method I can without it breaking - this means NO PARCEL POST if I can help it, because that tends to get things smashed. Most items are sent priority mail, shipping is generally rounded to the next dollar to cover packing materials and such.
Greeting Cards
Starting at $25.
Greeting cards are basically just some simple artwork done on cardstock, folded into a card and mailed to you so you can send it as a greeting to whoever... or keep it for yourself. Prices will vary based on complexity (look under "drawings" for an idea of about where things will fall). Watercolor is not available for greeting cards at this time, though that may change in the future. Cards are one-of-a-kind, not prints. This is currently one of the only ways I will allow originals to leave my house.
Payment
For any item depicting original characters, payment must be made up front. I have regrettably had others not pay for their commissions in the past, so they ended up getting free artwork of their characters. So from now on you MUST pay ahead of time, before I start the piece. We can negotiate on how MUCH you pay ahead of time, but keep in mind I'm going to want at least half up front.
For craft items or artwork that features a more generic character (say, a plain white wolf without adornments or particularly defining features which could end up being anybody's character) you will not be required to pay up front, however if I do not receive timely payment after the piece has been completed (approximately 2 weeks unless other prior arrangements have been made), you will get a one-week warning, then the item will go up for sale to the general public and if a drawing you will lose your claim to the image. This is especially true of craft items as there is a greater materials cost that goes into these, which I have to know I can make back.
Payment can be made either via paypal or "snail mail", but I will not begin work on original character pieces until payment has been received.
My Paypal or contact information will be provided to you on request, once you have decided what you want from me. PLEASE include with your payment the name that I know you by/what you commissioned me for, so that I know which payment I am getting instead of having a bunch of nameless payments. Payments with no name, if I can't find out who you are, will be refunded, but I do not know what Paypal does with the fees for those, so take that as fair warning.
I will try my damnedest to find out who paid me, but PLEASE make it easier and just include who you are and what you're paying for when you pay.
I also will OCCASIONALLY accept points - please make sure to ask first. Whether I am accepting points at any given time will probably depend on how many I already have (namely, if I have enough to renew my premium membership), or if you are willing to make the transaction via premium content so that it can be transferred back to real money. Point commissions will cost slightly more in real-money terms, partly owing to the preference for actual money commissions. So it will be 100 points per $1, instead of the standard 80. Point commissions will be accepted for drawings ONLY, not for craft items.
Image Rights
By commissioning me for artwork you are paying for your own, personal use of the image ONLY (or the original copy of the image where such arrangements have been made), if you would like to make commercial use of the image please discuss this with me beforehand as this may alter the pricing depending on intended use. You are not buying the rights to print and resell additional copies of the image unless you have made these arrangements with me before work has begun.
If you so choose, of course, you may resell the original copy if you decide you no longer want it - that takes nothing away from me. Forbidding that would be like selling you a pair of pants, then telling you that you're not allowed to put it in a yard sale later. That would be silly. Now, if you scan it, make prints, and start selling them, THEN we've got a problem.
If you want to allow someone else to use your commissioned image for RP forums or other non-commercial use, please make sure to let me know that they have your permission (and I would definitely appreciate if you let the other person know who created the image so if they want one of their own, they know where to go).
You may NOT give someone else permission to use the image for commercial purposes without consulting me first. In these cases I will need to confirm the commissioner's permission to have the image used by someone else, and the other person wishing to make commercial use of the image MUST contact me to work out payment details of their own - gaining your permission in these cases is completely separate from gaining mine as they would be making money off my artwork, and I do expect adequate compensation if this is to happen.
If you are okay with anyone to be permitted to use the commissioned image, let me know so that I am aware I can give permission freely without checking with you first. Also please let me know if you are okay with me selling prints/shirts with the image - otherwise I will assume you do NOT want prints to be available to others.
